An antique (turn of the century) pine trunk / blanket box formerly belonging to Brother L. Maple (goodness only knows what the initials below his name stood for!). The remains of an English railway luggage label to one side suggest it certainly got well used. 

 

Black painted body with original, hand painted lettering and a bare wood lid with iron strapping and handles. Inside there's a small candle / storage box on the left side. 

Plenty of knocks, dents, scuffs and scratches - all evidencing a life lived and creating the sort of character that just can't be replicated, structurally sound / sturdy. 

 

A good, practical piece of furniture that helps with storage. 

It meausures 76cm wide x 39cm high x 44cm deep.
