A rare survivor, this original poster for 'Esso Extra Motor Oil - The Strong Silent Motor Oil' is a wonderfully striking piece of vintage advertising. 

 

The poster is likely to date to the 1950s/'60s and was printed by 'Impress (Acton) Ltd - London W3'.

 

The poster was clearly issued to retailers folded and these original fold lines remain visible.

There's a faint 'tide mark' from water exposure running along the bottom edge, just below the 'Motor Oil' wording and there is the ghosting of tape in the corners / outer middle edges but generally the colours remain strong and the piece displays well. It's been professionally framed, though prior to my ownership so there are some light markings to the frame - reflected in the price. 

 

It measures 79cm high x 54cm wide.
